I am Sandra Buurman, born and raised in The Hague.

In 2004 I came to Turkey and Fethiye for the first time and fell in love with the land, the sky, the sea, the space and the people with their hospitality. In 2020 I sold my house and furniture and actually moved to Fethiye!!

Fethiye is not a tourist city and the region is ideally suited to get to know the real, authentic Turkey. There are several historical sights to admire in the area, the unspoilt nature is beautiful in every season and the local culinary specialties are highly recommended.

Fethiye is located on the Turkish Riviera and various excursions and sporting activities can be alternated with relaxing on the beach, strolling through Turkish markets or enjoying a wonderful evening in the lively center.

In all the years that I have been able to get to know the people and the environment, I have come to the conclusion that there is fortunately little mass tourism in Fethiye and this motivated me to set up my travel agency True Turkey Travel. I would like to show the (Dutch) travelers the real Turkey and through trips/holidays that are tailored to their specific needs, all year round, I can share my love for Turkey. I am your compass!

My studies MEAO Tourism, HBO Higher Management and Spanish and Turkish courses were a good basis for True Turkey Travel. I can use the years in which I worked at Schiphol, so I am not unfamiliar with aviation, to guide people in booking flights. I speak Dutch, English and Turkish fluently and am known for my customer focus, my sincerity and my humor (that's how others describe me, I'm much too modest for this myself).

My background lies in massage and body therapy, for people with vague complaints or serious physical and / or mental complaints. I noticed that massage is an accessible starting point for self-care. After all, it is easier to have personal conversations in a light and familiar environment.

After my own personal loss in 2020 it had become clear to me that I want to support people with any kind of loss whether it be loss of job, relationship, health, pet, or through goodbye, I will walk along their path of grief , loss and transition. It was therefore a logical step for me to deepen this piece, with the HBO Bachelor Loss and Bereavement & Transition course, where I learned to work with Stephanie Beijnens' Compass method, among other things. I combine this method with a holistic working method of massage therapy, nature therapy, personal coaching and organizing lifestyle retreats with a theme.
